Daan Bogers studied composition, arranging and music production at the Utrecht Arts Academy from which he graduated in 2004.

In 2002 Daan started working as a freelance producer and arranger. In 2005 he founded "Daan Bogers Musicproductions"


During and after his musical education, he studied the trumpet. Nowadays he plays in several bands and orchestras. Among them the "Bogers Swing Collective", shortly "BOSCO", an allround jazzorchestra which was founded in 2003 by Daan, for which Daan arranged, directed, produced and managed. Founding BOSCO can be seen as the start of his professional career in music.

 

COMPOSER & ARRANGER
In 2005 Daan was selected to write music for his favorite orchestra: The Metropole Orchestra and had the oportunity to work with the great Vince Mendoza.
Daan Bogers' music was recorded and broadcasted in over 40 countries.
Besides the Metropole Orchestra, Daan wrote music for The Young Sinatras,
The Legendary Movie Orchestra, The Chris Strik New Orleans Xperience, BOSCO, Gospel Boulevard, The "YO! Muziektheaterfestival" Utrecht,
Sensual, The Awesome Allstar Orchestra, Pierre Kartner, Kees Kraayenoord, a numerous amount of windorchestras, bigbands, hornsections and others.

 

CONCERTPRODUCER
Among his (concert)productions were a lot of events in his hometown Breda, where he has put a lot of effort in the city's jazzculture.
Products he initiated or participated in were Big Jazz Night 1 (Publieke Werken 2005, co-producer, arranger), Big Jazz Night 2 (MEZZ, programmer, executive producer, arranger), The BOSCO Christmas Party 1 (Publieke Werken 2006, producer, director, arranger), The BOSCO Christmas Party 2 "Gloria in Excelsis BOSCO" (MEZZ 2007, producer, director, arranger), The Swing-

MUSIC PROGRAMMER
As a programmer, Daan is recruited to program bands and orchestras regularly for several companies and eventagencies.
Next to that, he programs bands and musicians every month in various café's and musicstages in his hometown Breda.
One of his current projects, which made it to the press because of the impressive band line-up, is "Zeezicht live"

 

TRUMPETPLAYER

Daan Bogers has had the privilege to play with several great bands, orchestras and musicians, which have been inspiring him significently and, with that, helped him in his musical development as a trumpetplayer: 

Chris Strik, Tony Peters, Thomas L'etienne, Leroy Jones, Lillian Bouttée, Denise Jannah, Rik Mol, Nico Schepers, Frank van der Poel, Silvester van Rijckevorsel, Eric Wels, William Wixley, Sharon Kips, Frank Montis, Eva Kieboom, Stephan Lems, Jelle Schouten, Erik Veldkamp, Jan Bastiani, Frederik Heirman, Mete Erker, Bart Lust, Emiel van Rijthoven, Jerome Hol, Eelco van de Meeberg, Bas van Gestel, Nicole de Zabala and Joep Habraken.

Teachers who have meant a lot to him were: Hans Leeuw, Ad van Zon, Jeroen Doomernik, Toon de Gouw, Cees Bijleveld and Dick Kuijs (producer/composer) Vince Mendoza (composer), Barbara Woof (composer), Marc van Vugt (composer), Pieter Zwaans (director), Carlo Balemans (his first musicteacher).

 

TEACHER

Nowadays, Daan teaches the trumpet himself. He also works as a bigband conductor and is often recruited as 'coach' for brasssections or musical advisor for various types of orchestras. Besides that, he is being asked frequently as an artistic director in studio productions.
